The emerging trends shaping South Africa’s digital media industry will be explored in an engaging, multi-city, roadshow presented by the Digital Media and Marketing Association (DMMA) and Effective Measure.
Effective Measure, a leading provider of digital audience profiling and measurement solutions and online intelligence in emerging markets, has partnered with South Africa’s digital media industry and advocacy body, for the DMMA/Effective Measure Roadshow to address the key challenges and growth opportunities for the digital media sector.
DMMA members and interested industry parties are invited to the series of think tank sessions which include key findings from DMMA’s annual research on South Africa’s digital nation and Effective Measure’s unique industry insights and latest market data. The roadshow will kick off on January 30 in Cape Town, January 31 in Johannesburg and February 1 in Durban.
Effective Measure’s Country Managing Director for South Africa, Alan Morrissey said that mobile and digital growth is poised to spearhead new modes of growth in the marketing sector in South Africa.
“As mobile consumption and broadband penetration accelerates, digital marketers need to engage with shifting technology platforms in deeper ways to keep track of South African consumer culture and behaviour. Mobile phone penetration and mobile content traffic has indicated that there is a large untapped consumer market on the continent,” he said.
Key topics that will be canvassed at the roadshow include the evolution of metrics, assets segmentation, ways of interpreting data and how to get the most robust results.
“Understanding these new modes of digital consumption is now paramount to every publisher, brand and marketer. Accessing clear mobile and digital metrics with efficient data interpretation needs to be a priority for every digital practioner,” Morrissey added.
